'Rhinoceros' Auditions

DATE: Wednesday, September 13, 2017

TIME: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

LOCATION: Leslie Phillips Theater, Fine & Performing Arts Building

The HCC Theater Dept. will hold auditions for its Fall 2017 production, "Rhinoceros," by Eugene Ionesco Wed., Sept. 13, and Thurs., Sept. 14, in the Leslie Phillips Theater, HCC Fine & Performing Arts Building.  

The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Tim Cochran.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. More than 10 acting roles are available. No experience is necessary.

There will be possible callbacks on Friday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. 

Performances will be held Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 15-18, at 7:30 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.

About the play:

"Rhinoceros" is a fable about a small town besieged by one roaring citizen who becomes a rhinoceros and proceeds to trample on the social order. As more and more citizens are transformed into rhinoceroses, the trampling becomes overwhelming and more and more people are likewise changed. One sane man, Berenger, remains, unable to change his form and identity.
