  • Days & Times: Mondays - Fridays, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Duration: 12 weeks hands-on training  (150 hours total)

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
This 12-week evening program, (running 150 hours in total), is broken up into three sessions with breaks in between. Please reserve these dates in your calendar!
  • Session 1: December 1 - 19 (3 Weeks)
  • Break 1: December 22 - January 2 (2 Weeks)
  • Session 2: January 5 - February 13 (6 Weeks)
  • Break 2: February 16 - 20 (1 Week)
  • Session 3: February 23 - March 13 (3 Weeks)
  • Graduation: Wednesday, March 14th

Offered through Holyoke Community College (HCC), this program will take place at these two locations:

WHAT

In this FREE 12-week/150-hour, hands-on program, you’ll earn your OSHA 30 Safety Credentials while learning fundamental electrical and construction skills. You’ll also learn how these skills are applied in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, sales, design, installation, operation, and maintenance. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to apply to competitive solar installer and electrical apprenticeship programs, entry level positions in the building trades, or clean energy jobs with average wages starting at $22+.

ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

+ 18+ yrs of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
+ Have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET
+ Willing and able to seek and start PT/FT work in the clean energy or building trades fields following training or in an apprenticeship program
+ Have graduated from one of our Clean Energy programs and maintained 1:1 Career Counseling Sessions OR have basic knowledge of construction and electricity
+ Willing and able to attend regular virtual 1:1 sessions with career development counselor during and after the program (for up to a year) to advance employment opportunities
+ Have OSHA 10 Construction Safety Credentials (or be willing to obtain prior to class at CareerSafeOnline.com)
+ Participate in intake exams and interviews
+ Pass a sex offender background check (SORI)

**Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to seeking an apprenticeship or part-/full-time work in the clean energy or building trade fields, for example: solar or EV tech, construction, electrical, weatherization, home efficiency, flooring, welding, masonry, etc. **
