MAICEI

The  Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI) provides dual enrollment opportunities for transition-aged students, ages 18 - 22 with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder. Students participate in a fully inclusive college experience and have the opportunity to take college courses, for credit or audit, with supports determined through their IEP and TPF.  Students have full access to a range of academic and student-centered services on campus.

Students can use the experiences they gain at HCC to:

  • Build their independence and self-determination
  • Achieve their transition goals in a setting that is socially valued
  • Learn with their age-appropriate peers in an inclusive community environment
  • Explore careers through coursework, community-based internships, and employment

partner public school districts

  • Agawam
  • Belchertown
  • East Longmeadow
  • Hampshire Regional
  • Holyoke
  • Ware
  • West Springfield
  • Westfield

Students and families work with their transition teams to determine if the MAICEI program is right for them.

More information about the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative and a complete list of college-school partnerships is available online.
